Transforming Padma Cakes into the star of Lamki Mahotsav! Navigating a new culture in Nepal, I led a bold strategy—from designing the main entry gate to creating a viral Facebook UI/UX selfie booth. This campaign drove massive engagement, skyrocketed sales, and hyped their new Rajapur outlet
The Lamki Mahotsav project was a mission to elevate Padma Cakes from a beloved local bakery to the undisputed star attraction of a massive regional trade fair in Nepal. The goal was to go beyond traditional marketing to create an immersive, unforgettable brand experience that would dominate the event, maximize on-ground sales, and build high anticipation for their upcoming new outlet in Rajapur.
While Padma Cakes was already an established local brand, the real challenge was a personal one for me as a strategist and designer. Hailing from India, stepping into Nepal meant navigating a completely new cultural landscape and overcoming a subtle language barrier. I had to rapidly decode the local consumer psychology and trends to design a campaign that would authentically connect with the Nepali audience and cut through the massive noise of a crowded fairground.
To ensure Padma Cakes captured maximum attention, we executed a bold, multi-faceted on-ground strategy:
Strategic Dominance: Instead of settling for a standard stall, I secured the Main Entry Gate sponsorship. I personally designed a welcoming entry arch and a massive roadside gate, saturating the venue with our banners to create the grand illusion that Padma Cakes was the title sponsor.
Localized Viral Marketing: Observing the huge local craze for social media, I designed and installed a life-sized, highly detailed Facebook UI/UX Selfie Booth to give people a reason to stop and interact.
The Engagement Loop: We armed visitors with quirky, localized stick-props and launched an on-the-spot photo contest. Visitors who posted their booth pictures and garnered the most engagement won exclusive gift hampers.
Seamless Conversion: We strategically placed our beautifully displayed sales counter right next to the high-energy selfie booth, ensuring a direct flow from engagement to purchase.
The execution of this strategy turned the brand into a festival sensation:
A Viral Hotspot: The Facebook selfie booth became the most popular attraction at the Mahotsav. The photo contest triggered a massive wave of organic, user-generated content, turning hundreds of locals into instant brand ambassadors.
Record-Breaking Sales: The seamless pairing of the engagement zone with our product display led to a significant and immediate surge in on-ground pastry and cake sales.
A Powerful Pre-Launch: The overwhelming crowd response, positive sentiment, and high brand recall served as the perfect, high-impact launchpad to successfully promote Padma Cakes’ highly anticipated new outlet in Rajapur.
